Since its formation Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity continues to grow and under the guidance of Co-Founder Wendy Paterson. The Brisbane breast cancer charity is led with a spirit of compassion and kindness.

Wendy is an enthusiastic woman whose personal commitment for making a difference is infectious. Wendy appreciates the genuine bonds and sense of togetherness that have been formed between herself and all volunteers at Be Uplifted Inc.

Wendy believes the charity exemplifies the sense of community that is at times lost in modern society – the idea of helping others when they need it most.

As a woman who herself was dealt with a breast cancer diagnosis quite young in life, and struggled through a breast cancer journey as a single mother, Wendy understands first hand the financial burden faced by breast cancer patients.  Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity is all about helping those who need support during their breast cancer journey in whatever way the charity can.

Wendy works closely with all volunteers at Be Uplifted Inc and is usually the first person many breast cancer patients talk to when they seek financial assistance or other support with the charity.

She works hard to ensure that each and every breast cancer patient is treated with dignity and respect throughout their breast cancer journey, and that Be Uplifted Inc responds immediately and appropriately to each individuals needs.

Wendy is determined to make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients, and alongside a growing group of Be Uplifted Inc volunteers she ensures a maximum amount of breast cancer patients can receive the help and support they need during their breast cancer journey.

She is passionate about supporting breast cancer patients during treatment in any way Be Uplifted Inc can, whether it be arranging for a wheelchair for a terminally ill breast cancer patient, buying a family a new washing machine, supplying a patient who has lost their casual employment with some much needed groceries or helping out schooling costs for a single young mum who simply has too many bills to pay because of her breast cancer treatment. No matter the situation or the request, Wendy is committed to getting breast cancer patients what they need to complete their treatment safely and with as little personal stress as possible.

In line with Be Uplifted Inc’s motto, “people not research”, Wendy is committed to making a difference and highlighting in the community the need to assist more breast cancer patients who are isolated and suffering from the effects of cancer. While there is so much focus on fundraising to find a cure for cancer, there is little action towards helping the growing number of breast cancer patents in our local community who need care and support right now.

It is this drive to bring about positive social change and genuine joy from helping others, combined with her approachable nature and sense of fun that are appreciated by not only the breast cancer patients that she meets, but also the volunteers within the charity.
