Christmas Hampers

Uplifting gifts at a time when they are most treasured

Delivering Christmas Hampers to breast cancer patients recuperating in local oncology wards is just one of the practical ways Be Uplifted Inc provides support to local breast cancer patients and families during breast cancer treatment.

At the end of every November, Be Uplifted Inc contacts the chemotherapy wards at local hospitals to find out the number of patients on a breast cancer journey.

Patients receiving treatment for breast cancer are gifted with a bright reusable bag full of Christmas goodies sure to bring a smile to their face.

The purpose of these packages is to lessen the stress of Christmas day, and each Christmas Hampers contains personal toiletries, Christmas foods plus general food items.

From 2013, Be Uplifted Inc partnered with FoodBank Queensland in producing these very special Christmas hampers.

Each Christmas Hamper includes a variety of personal care items, non-perishable Christmas treats and pantry staples. For example, in 2016, each Christmas Hamper contained:

  • Razors
  • Tissues
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Christmas Cake
  • Soap
  • Rice
  • Spaghetti
  • Tea bags

These hampers are packed and delivered to each chemo ward in the first week of December for the staff to distribute to breast cancer patients over the Christmas period.

Christmas Hamper deliveries for breast cancer patients at North West Hospital

The hospitals in which we deliver our Christmas Hampers are:

North West Private Hospital

Caboolture Private Hospital

Holy Spirit Hospital

Redcliffe Hospital

Northlakes Day Hospital

Prince Charles Hospital

The Christmas Hamper delivery event is coordinated by the team of volunteers at BeUplifted Inc, with special help from FoodBank. In 2016, our special friends at Giffen Removals helped us with the heavy lifting.

Every women, man and child deserves a wonderful Christmas day. And for those facing the challenges of breast cancer treatment, Christmas can be an extra worrisome time.

Our Christmas Hamper delivery project brings great pleasure to the volunteers of Be Uplifted Inc, and is a special, practical gesture to local breast cancer patients reminding them that they are not alone over Christmas.

Breast cancer patients who receive these Christmas Hampers are excited and thankful for the thoughtful gift at Christmastime.

This is a response Be Uplifted Inc’s Co-Founder, Wendy, received from a grateful recipient of a Christmas Hamper in Christmas 2016:
