A Mums Special Memory Quilt of Love

Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity’s reason for existence, is to provide support for Brisbane locals enduring breast cancer treatment and to offer financial and practical support that helps them and their immediate family.

There are many ways Be Uplifted provides support, and new ways and opportunities present to our charity often. One heartfelt way, is making beautiful handmade quilts that our very talented quilting volunteers create. Our charity’s breast cancer recipients receive a quilt as part of Be Uplifted “We Care” hampers.

The idea of a quilt to snuggle into, to wrap yourself in when perhaps feeling most vulnerable or upset has a wonderful emotional, warming and loving affect. This is why we share our quilts with our breast cancer recipients. To help them feel more loved, cherished and supported during very confronting times throughout their breast cancer treatment and recovery.

Quilts to Be Uplifted are a symbol of hope and strength. The thought that a group of volunteers come together to make each and every quilt, sewing their expertise and love into each stitch, is a special thought. It might also lessen the load a recipients carrys in their head and heart daily, to know that some Be Uplifted volunteers are no stranger to breast cancer. They have either endured their own breast cancer journey or know a loved one who has.

Memory Quilts. Bespoke and treasured. Be Uplifted charity will gift from time to time a memory quilt. Recently, a Mum of  twins  lost her fight with breast cancer. It was through our conversations with the family, Be Uplifted decided to gift two handmade memory quilts for these young children, and honour their Mums memory. We discussed colours, patterns, images, so we could include this in our handmade quilts. We also made sure words Mum used to say to them were included.

We sincerely hope these memory quilts bring you strength and hope from time to time. We hope when you wrap yourself in your quilt, you think and share happy and beautiful thoughts of your Mum and family.

Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity is run by a team of dedicated volunteers, and our work is limited only by the funds we raise. All donations go directly to support those on a breast cancer journey. Although research money is always required to find ways to treat and manage this disease, 100% of our donations go to support people, not research.

All funds we raise are used to assist local women and men seriously ill with breast cancer and their families with their costly medical and household expenses. Help us support local families during times when it is most needed. We guarantee that any donation you make will be used to help breast cancer patients and will pay for very practical things patients cannot afford during their cancer treatment.
