One of the free services offered by Be Uplifted Inc is the delivery of free “We Care” Hampers to breast cancer patients currently going through a treatment of chemotherapy.
These lovely hampers are made and distributed by the Be Uplifted Inc volunteers, and are another way Be Uplifted Inc shows women and men on a breast cancer journey that someone cares and understands the difficulties of breast cancer chemo treatment.
Each of our “We Care” Hampers are specially packed by our volunteers with the needs of a breast cancer patient in mind. They are valued at about $85 each.
Our breast cancer patient hampers contain the essentials that a person receiving treatment for breast cancer will appreciate, such as cancer caps which help after hair loss and ginger to settle the stomach and remove bad tastes, plus a couple of extras to hopefully make them smile, including a handmade candle to sooth the senses.
For example, a “We Care” Hamper from Be Uplifted Inc is likely to include:
Hand cream
Face Washer
Soap
A small size wheat pack
Chemo cancer caps
Our cancer ribbon
Packet of handmade cards
Toothpaste and toothbrush
Pumped soap
Small notebook
A stressball
Some nuts for protein
A bag of ginger
A handmade soy candle
A small, soft teddy
Tissues
Shower pouf
Makeup bag
Purse size hand sanitizer
All items are presented in a basket with a personal note from a volunteer, who has most likely been on his or her own breast cancer journey and understands just what these little extras mean during treatment.
Along with these comfort-filled hampers, each breast cancer patient receives a homemade quilt to keep them warm during chemotherapy. These quilts retail for about $50 each and are useful at home and during hospital stays.
