For many people in the community, our pop up shop and community display is the first contact they have with Be Uplifted Inc. Our proud volunteers offer an invaluable connection and path to information about breast cancer and local support services.
An increasing number of breast cancer patients are seeking assistance from Be Uplifted Inc, which makes our pop up shop role in community even more significant.
Be Uplifted Inc oversees a community information table in a local shopping centre every two weeks, an important tool in giving a face to our charity, as well as collecting donations, fundraising through selling our breast cancer merchandise and selling Be Uplifted Inc fundraising event tickets.
How To Get A Drain Bag
Be Uplifted Inc supplies our breast cancer Drain Bag to breast cancer patients at local oncology wards. We also have them available at our Op Shops and Shopping Centre Information Stalls.

How You Can Help
Creating Drain Bags and distributing them to breast cancer patients is just one way that Be Uplifted Inc supports local breast cancer patients. This activity reflects our charity’s goal to make a real, practical difference in the lives of local breast cancer patients, and our motto “people not research”.
There are many ways you can help us, even if you are not a sewer!
- Come along to one of our regular Drain Bag Sewing Days. You can help us by coming along and cutting, sewing, ironing or even just making a cup of tea! Our Drain Bag Sewing Days are fun and fulfilling days, and a wonderful way to donate your time to a worthwhile cause. We regularly post information about these events on our Facebook page, or come back to this website for information in our events section.
- If you would like to volunteer to be a sewer, cut fabric or have other special skills to help us make our Drain Bags, join in.
- Donate Fabric. We are always on the lookout for patterned and plain fabric to use to create our Drain Bags. If you have excess fabric laying about, our volunteers would love to turn it into something special.
- Make a Donation. Every bit helps, and your donation over $2 is tax deductible.

Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission ABN 49 270 645 534. We are a Brisbane volunteer run breast cancer non-profit charity fundraising to provide to local breast cancer patients and breast cancer survivors and their families with practical care and financial assistance during breast cancer treatment. All donations our Brisbane charity receives and profits from the Be Uplifted Inc Op Shops at Strathpine and Boondall go directly to making a difference in the lives of local Brisbane breast cancer patients.
