This week Be Uplifted Inc hosted the team from Westpac to celebrate the awarding of our Westpac Foundation 200 Community Grants 2017.
Staff from Westpac came along to Be Uplifted Inc’s headquarters at Zillmere, where Wendy and team were shared morning tea and some laughs.
Westpac managers Leonie and Kylie, along with finance manager Julie joined Northside regional manager Brett and Be Uplifted Inc’s volunteers for morning tea and a chat about how Be Uplifted Inc helps local breast cancer patients, and the services offered.
Charyl, our Crochet Knockers expert and Craft Volunteer Co-ordinator, spent time explaining how our soft breast prostheses provide a wonderful alternative to heavy, silicone prostheses for breast cancer patients.
Over a cup of tea and delicious cakes, our volunteers talked about how Be Uplifted Inc helps breast cancer patients and the local community, with our two Op Shops providing a sustainable source of good quality second-hand clothing and household items at affordable prices.
As well as enjoying morning tea, Wendy was presented with a $10,000 cheque from Northside regional manager Brett for the Westpac Foundation 200 Community Grants 2017.
The smiles on the Be Uplifted Inc team says it all. Be Uplifted Inc is so grateful for the generosity of the Westpac Foundation and knows those breast cancer recipients who will benefit from this grant will also appreciate the generosity.
About the Westpac Community Grant
Be Uplifted Inc is one of many lucky recipients of the Westpac Foundation 200 Community Grants 2017.
In 2017, these Community Grants provided $2 million of funding to 200 community organisations, delivering so many opportunities in the community.
In the case of our breast cancer charity, the Westpac Community Grant will mean that Be Uplifted Inc can improve the quality of life of local Brisbane women, men and their families disadvantaged by a breast cancer diagnosis.
