This week is National Volunteer Week, part of Australia’s annual celebration acknowledging the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.
As you probably know Be Uplifted Inc is a non-profit organization that helps breast cancer patients and their families. We are run entirely by volunteers to meet our goals of offering practical support and financial assistance to breast cancer patients and survivors.
And many of our volunteers already know that there are so many personal ways you can benefit by being part of a non-profit organisation like Be Uplifted Inc.
This May, from Monday 21 May until Sunday 27 May, organisations like Volunteering Queensland are leading the charge in helping to say thank you to the special people who help charity organisations like our breast cancer charity who help others.
With a week-long celebration that will include breakfasts, morning/afternoon teas, and luncheons, as well as open days, award ceremonies, picnics, forums and training sessions, the special contribution made by volunteers, such as the wonderful volunteers that help Be Uplifted Inc, including:
- Bunnings BBQs crew
- Drain Bag Sewing Group
- Regular Tuesday craft group
- Op Shop customer service staff
- Cleaners
- Maintenance and administrative team
Every person that donates their time to Be Uplifted Inc is helping to change the lives of a breast cancer patient and their family.
Recognition for a job well done
This year, Be Uplifted Inc is being recognised for its efforts in bringing positive change to the local community.
